Kolkata somehow managed to get through to the finals as they fumbled in the death overs even after getting a good start. Interestingly, they have never lost any final of the Indian T20 League as they managed to lift the cup on both the previous occasions. Venkatesh Iyer has certainly been the find of this season.
Delhi on the other hand lost the plot yet again in the final stages of the tournament. The sloppy work on the field didn't help their case after an average batting display early on as they kept on dropping catches and giving away easy runs through misfield. Nevertheless, they have been one of the most consistent side of the tournament in the last 3 editions and they would definitely want to come back even more stronger in the next season.

Eoin Morgan: " It Should have been more easier with the kind of start that we got, but eventually we won and I am very delighted with that. We are here to play some entertaining games. It's a nice insight in the team culture with the young guys coming in and expressing themselves. We were in touch with everyone after the first phase of the league. Venkatesh Iyer has been unbelievable as a player and we are lucky to have him in our side. CSK is one of the toughest side in the tournament and we're looking forward to face them in the final."

We kept on believing to stay in the game as long as possible and the bowlers did well to get us back into the game. Kolkata bowled really well in the middle overs as we felt stuck. Hopefully we can come back stronger next year. I think this season we played really good cricket. Hopefully we will improve next year and come back stronger."
