Only two Indians have won Purple Cap twice in IPL history
Only two Indian players have won the Purple Cap twice in the 17-year history of the tournament. Veteran Indian bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar finished as the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2016 and 2017 with SunRisers Hyderabad, picking 23 and 26 wickets respectively. Harshal Patel, however won the Purple Cap in 2021 with RCB and then finished at the top with 24 wickets in IPL 2024 with Punjab Kings.
Jos Buttler hit most centuries in IPL 2024, which is two
In IPL 2024, Jos Buttler, who played for Rajasthan Royals, smashed two centuries. Buttler overpowered Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 113-run knock in match against RCB. However, his second ton came against Kolkata Knight Riders as he smashed 107* runs off 60 deliveries to guide his side to victory.
Two players have captained LSG so far in IPL
Only two players, KL Rahul and Krunal Pandya have captained LSG so far in the IPL. While KL Rahul led the side in 2022 and 2024, Krunal Pandya took over the reins after the Indian wicketkeeper-batter suffered an injury and forced to miss the remainder of the season. Rishabh Pant will become the third to lead the side as he steps out on the field for the first time on March 24.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed bowled two maiden overs each in IPL 2024
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (SRH) and Khaleel Ahmed (DC) bowled two maiden overs each across their 16 and 14-match stint in IPL 2024, bagging 11 and 17 wickets respectively. While these were the most maiden overs bowled in the last edition of the tournament.
