The 2024 Paris Olympics, officially called, Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, began on July 24, with the opening being held on Friday, July 26. The spectacular show saw more than five thousand athletes participating in the Parade of Nations on the Seine. The grand ceremony saw riot of colours and lights changing the colour of Seine, as the city saw an amalgamation of traditions, cultures and nationalities.
First awards of Paris Olympics 2024 were awarded in shooting as it has been the case at every summer games since Munich 1972. In Paris it was be awarded in the mixed team 10m air rifle event at the Châteauroux Shooting Centre. Kazakhstan's mixed pair of Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev win bronze in the 10m air rifle and became the first medallist of the edition.
Gold was won by Huang and Sheng after they won their match 16-12 over Keum and Park of the Rep. of Korea.
On the other hand, history was created on basketball court as Spain’s Rudy Fernandez became first basketball player to appear in six Olympics. Team China extended their gold medal tally after Chen and Chang finished first on the podium in 3m springboard.
