Star Indian batter Virat Kohli has gone through highs and lows in the year 2024. From being the highest run-scorer in the Indian Premier League (IPL), to winning his maiden T20 World Cup, Kohli had a memorable outing in the first half of 2024. However, he also had a dip in his form in the later half of the year and is likely to be in the last stages of his cricketing career. Virat Kohli started the year during the second Test against South Africa in Cape Town. He scored 46 and 12 respectively as India won the match by seven wickets to level the series.

After that, Virat Kohli made his return to the Indian T20I side after almost a year for the series against Afghanistan. However, Kohli had to miss the five-match Test series against England due to the birth of his second child. Kohli then returned to professional cricket during IPL 2024 and ended up being the highest run-getter of the season with 741 runs in 15 matches. However, Kohli couldn’t continue his IPL form in the T20 World Cup in USA and West Indies as he ended up scoring just 75 runs in seven matches before the final.

However, Virat Kohli stood up on the right occasion and played a knock of 76(59) runs in the final against South Africa in Barbados on June 29 as India won the T20 World Cup title after 17 years. Kohli was adjudged player of the match for his knock, and finally went on to win his first-ever T20 World Cup title. However, it also turned out to be Kohli’s last T20I game as he announced retirement from the shortest format right after the final.

Virat Kohli's stats in 2024

After the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli didn’t have a great time with the bat in the later half of 2024. He failed to score big in an ODI series against Sri Lanka. He also got starts in the Test matches against Bangladesh and New Zealand, but couldn’t get a big knock. Kohli finally ended his century drought in international cricket after he scored 100* runs in the first Test against Australia in Perth. However, he couldn't continue his form for the rest of the series. Let’s have look at his stats across formats in 2024.
