2. Deepak Hooda
Deepak Hooda is the surprise pick to potentially replace Axar Patel, if the need arises for the Indian team in the ODI World Cup 2023, especially because the players who are currently ahead of him in the pecking order, the likes of Shahbaz Ahmed and Shivam Dube, are headed to Hangzhou, China, to play the Asian Games 2023. Notably, the 28-year-old has played 10 ODIs for India as an all-rounder in 2022, after making his debut against the West Indies in February of that year.
In his brief international career in the 50 overs format, he has scored 153 runs at an average of 25.50 and a strike-rate of 80.95, while picking up three wickets at an average of 39.66 and the economy of 4.76.
