MS Dhoni has been the backbone of the CSK franchise since 2008 and in recent times, despite CSK winning the IPL titles in 2021 & 2023 editions, the fans have a concern thinking that IPL 2024 could end up being the last season for MS Dhoni. But here in this article, we will have a look at three reasons why Dhoni could continue to play in IPL 2025.
1. No successor to lead the CSK franchise after MS Dhoni:
If MS Dhoni doesn't get to play in IPL 2025, then they will have to go in search of a new skipper for the CSK franchise with options like Ravindra Jadeja and Ruturaj Gaikwad respectively. Jadeja will be a very old player considering his age in 2025 while Gaikwad on the other hand, despite leading India in the Asian Games 2023 tournament, hasn't featured much in the Indian jersey as he faces stiff competition from openers like Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Hence, Gaikwad without much international experience leading a huge franchise like CSK may not lead them to have great results in the IPL tournament.
