Just a couple of days are left for the start of IPL 2025 and all the franchises have been seeking the blessings of god to have a great season ahead. Recently, Punjab Kings head coach Ricky Ponting also went to seek the divine blessings as he could be seen performing puja along with the other PBKS players in a viral video. The team took a part in the traditional puja ceremony ahead of the upcoming IPL season.
Punjab Kings are looking very promising ahead of IPL 2025. They have two-time World Cup winning captain Ricky Ponting as their head coach, while they have also appointed Shreyas Iyer as their skipper who led Kolkata Knight Riders to the title last year. PBKS will begin their IPL 2025 campaign with a match against Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 25.

Ponting made me feel like a great player: Shreyas Iyer hails PBKS head coach for his support
Ahead of IPL 2025, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer heaped praise on head coach RIcky Ponitng for the support when both were the part of Delhi Capitals. Iyer said that Ponting helped him to gain confidence while he was going through a challenging period in his career.
“He supports everyone. When I worked with him for the first time in the past. He made me feel like I am a great player and I can easily excel in this format. The confidence he gives a player is of a different level,” Iyer said at a media interaction.
Earlier, Ricky Ponting also stated that he was ‘desperate’ to work with Shreyas Iyer in IPL 2025. Notably, PBKS bought Iyer for a whopping INR 26.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
