The IPL 2025 mega auction is just around the corner, set to take place on 24 and 25 November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As teams prepare to strengthen their squads, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will look to add key players to their roster. With the release of KL Rahul, LSG is focused on building a balanced team.
LSG has retained five players ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, including West Indian power hitter Nicholas Pooran and four young Indian players in Mohsin Khan, Mayank Yadav, Ayush Badoni, and Ravi Bishnoi. 1. Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan, a talented Indian wicketkeeper-batter, is known for his explosive batting skills. The 26-year-old has played 105 IPL matches, scoring 2,644 runs with a strike rate of 135.86. Released by MI, he’s expected to be one of the hottest picks at the auction. With his skills, he could be a valuable opener and wicketkeeper for LSG. His price is expected to be around INR 15 Crore or more, and LSG might bid for him to strengthen their batting lineup.

2. Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler, one of the best T20 players in the world and England’s T20I captain, has been released by Rajasthan Royals. LSG might target him not only for his batting but also as a captaincy option after Rahul’s departure. The 34-year-old has played 107 IPL matches, scoring 3,582 runs with seven centuries. He’s likely to attract high bids, with a price expected to cross INR 15 Crore.

3. Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer could be an ideal replacement for KL Rahul as both captain and batter. He has proven leadership, having led KKR to the IPL 2024 title and DC to the IPL 2020 final. Now available in the auction, LSG may consider him for the captaincy role. Iyer’s consistency with the bat and leadership experience make him a strong candidate, with his price expected to go above INR 18 Crore.

4. Washington Sundar
LSG has already retained three promising Indian bowlers Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav, and Mohsin Khan. They can now target Washington Sundar, an all-rounder who adds strength in both batting and bowling. Sundar’s skills would bolster LSG’s spin department and middle order. He’s expected to go for around INR 8-10 Crore in the auction.

5. Trent Boult
Trent Boult has been one of the top fast bowlers in the IPL since 2020. The 35-year-old has taken 121 wickets in 104 matches, with an economy rate of 8.29. Known for his powerplay bowling, Boult can swing the ball both ways, often taking early wickets. LSG needs a solid foreign pacer to team up with their young Indian bowling core, and Boult could be a perfect fit. However, with several teams eyeing him, his bid is likely to be around INR 15 Crore.
