The franchises are geared up for the mega auction ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025. With the new retention rules set by the BCCI, the franchises can now retain six players ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. In case the franchises don't retain any of their players, they can use six right-to-match (RTM) cards instead during the auction, which allow them to bring their best players back to the squad for the same price at which any other franchise makes a final bid.
With six retentions available ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, the franchises can bring their back to their squad who have been a crucial part of the team over the years with their consistent performances. The franchises have been given a deadline of October 31, to send their player retention list. Here’s the possible retentions for the franchises ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction.
DC possible retentions for IPL 2025 mega auction
Delhi Capitals (DC) didn’t have a good outing in the last three editions of the IPL. Reaching the finals in 2020 and finishing at the top of points table in 2021, DC failed to reach the playoffs in 2022, 2023 and 2024 respectively. However, there were some top performances from the players in IPL 2024, and DC will look to get them back in the squad ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction. After missing out on IPL 2023 after a major car accident, DC skipper Rishabh Pant had a good outing in his comeback season in IPL 2024 as the wicket-keeper batter, scoring 446 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 155.40. Pant has been a crucial member of DC over the years, and might be among the top retentions for DC ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction. DC may retain Pant at a price of INR 18 crore.
