Krafton India revealed the highly anticipated BGMI 2025 Esports roadmap for the first half of 2025, including BGIS 2025, BMPS 2025, and other events. Global Esports, who suspended their BGMI roster in October 2024 due to sustainability issues and was holding the future decision based on the 2025 roadmap, has now decided not to form a roster despite the two flagship tournaments, BGIS 2025 and BMPS 2025, returning with an INR 2 Crore prize pool each.
Global Esports to not field a BGMI roster for 2025 season
In a social media post on December 21, Global Esports announced, “After careful consideration, Global Esports has decided not to field a BGMI team this season. While publishers and tournament organizers have made commendable efforts, the current roadmap lacks the sustainability needed for organizations to thrive. Inflated salaries, delayed payouts, and no assured progression in the first half of 2025 make it unfeasible to support teams with salaries, bootcamps, and infrastructure for just one event per quarter. The randomness in the system further challenges long-term viability, even for a consistently winning team.”
The club also cleared that this is not their exit from BGMI Esports, while adding “This is not an exit from the ecosystem but a strategic shift in how we invest our time and resources. While we won't field a roster for now, we're open to revisiting this decision if the second half of 2025 brings a more viable roadmap. In the meantime, we'll actively contribute through: Content creation (tutorials, IPs, interviews) Academy training and scrims Hosting tournaments and watch parties Co-streams, and podcasts We're committed to adding value to the ecosystem and driving growth in impactful ways! (Just not by fielding a team/roster).”
Global Esports is one of the prominent names in the Indian esports industry. Many big names in the BGMI esports scene, like Mavi, Manya, Nakul, NinjaBoi, Spower, Sangwan, and AMAN, played under the banner of GE. The club has won many big tournaments like BGMI Masters Series Season 1, Skyesports Mobile Open 2024, and Thug Invitational: Season 5.
BGIS 2025 and BMPS 2025 to feature an INR 2 Crore prize pools each
