Jake Paul, the YouTuber-turned boxer, who hails from the USA, is embroiled in a verbal skirmish with multi-division boxing champion Canelo Alvarez from Mexico for quite some time. Recently, Paul sent out a video on his official X account, calling Alvarez “money-hungry squirrel”, who is involved in “sports-washing” after the Mexican boxer signed a deal to fight in Saudi Arabia, which essentially puts a potential match between them completely on hold.

Notably, Canelo Alvarez has agreed to a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season, which is the entertainment arm of the Saudi Arabian government, and Jake Paul is of the belief that the Mexican went to the Middle East, to avoid taking him inside a boxing ring. Known as the “Problem Child”, Jake Paul, who made his professional boxing debut in 2020, has a 11-1 record inside the squared circle, and his recent bout was against “Iron” Mike Tyson, who was twice his age, and he managed to defeat him.

You’re a money-hungry squirrel chasing your next nut: Jake Paul to Canelo Alvarez

In the latest video posted on his official X account, captioned, “Exposing Canelo”, Jake Paul talked about how Alvarez is running away from him, and going after the money in Saudi Arabia. He said, “The truth is, you could be bought,” before stating, “You’re a money-hungry squirrel chasing your next nut. The truth is, these sports-washing, shady characters are paying you hundreds of millions of dollars to stop our fight from happening because they couldn’t fathom the fact that they can’t create a bigger fight than me and you.”

Moreover, the four-fight deal signed by Canelo Alvarez with Riyadh Season could see him box inside the squared circle in his first match in May in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is understood that he might be facing American Terence Crawford in the second bout as part of the Riyadh Season on September 13 this year at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the USA.
