On day four of the first Test at Rawalpindi International Stadium, Bangladesh posted a big first innings score of 565 runs against hosts Pakistan, to take a vital 117-run lead. The bowling lineup of Pakistan was quite poor with the ball in the first innings, which led to the fans criticising them no end on the social media platform X.
For the unversed, Pakistan declared their first innings on 448/6 after hundreds from Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel, along with a fifty from Saim Ayub. In response, the Bangladesh batting lineup brought their A game to the floor with Mushfiqur Rahim scoring 191, missing out on a double hundred.
In the support cast, the likes of Shadman Islam, Litton Das, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz notched up fifties to propel Bangladesh to 565 in their first innings just before the close of play on day four. With a 117-run lead, Bangladesh have a chance to put Pakistan batting lineup under real pressure, with a possibility of forcing a result in their favour on day five.
