On Sunday, July 7, Abhishek Sharma smashed his maiden hundred for India in the second T20I of the five-match series against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. After getting dismissed for zero on his international debut, Abhishek Sharma made it up with a three-figure score in the second T20I, which invoked a celebratory reaction among the fans on X.
The captain of India, Shubman Gill, won the toss and chose to bat first on a bright and sunny afternoon in Harare. In the second over, Shubman Gill lost his wicket for 2 off 4 while trying to lift Blessing Muzarabani over the mid-on region, only to find Brian Bennett on the 30-yard circle.
After hitting his first ball for six against Brian Bennett, the same bowler who got his wicket in the previous match, Abhishek Sharma took the attack to him in his second over. The left-handed batter started to flex his muscles after achieving his fifty in 33 balls, taking Dion Myers to the cleaners with 28 runs in an over.
Abhishek Sharma brought up his hundred on the 46th ball after hitting three consecutive maximums against Wellington Masakadza and then, he lost his wicket to him on the very next ball.
