Afghanistan Cricket Board has released their squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, hosted by the USA and West Indies. One of the most exciting T20I sides in the world, Afghanistan will look to replicate their performances from the recent ODI World Cup in 2023 where they finished fifth and clinched qualification to Champions Trophy 2025.
Leg-spinning extraordinaire Rashid Khan will lead Afghanistan in this global T20 tournament. Wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Najib Zadran and Ibrahim Zadran will be the key batter followed by an experienced core of all-rounders like Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi and the skipper.

The Afghani bowling attack comprises Mujeeb ur Rahman and Noor Ahmad as the spinners with regular pacers Naveen ul Haq and Fazalhaq Farooqi. The Afghanistan squad also has three travelling reserves -- Sediq Atal, Hazratullah Zazai and Saleem Safi. Afghanistan will kick off their World Cup 2024 against Uganda, before taking on New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and West Indies in Group C.
