A renowned figure in the Formula 1 circuit, Adrian Newey is all set to join Aston Martin from 2025. This news was confirmed by F1 on Tuesday, September 10, just days prior to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which is schedule to take place from September 13 till 15.
In May 2024, the reigning champions, Red Bull had confirmed the departure of Adrian Newey after being with the side for 20-long years. The acclaimed British designer, who has 25 world championships under his belt, was on the race to join either Ferrari, Williams or Aston Martin with the latter having won the race.
Adrian Newey to join Aston Martin from March 1, 2025
Adrian will join the Silverstone-based side on a long-term deal as their Managing Technical Partner. The 65-year-old will join the side on March 1, 2025 and will have his major impact on the cars for the 2026 season. Moreover, the esteemed designer will have access to brand-new factory, including a new wind tunnel and in-loop simulator.
Soon after making the announcement on Adrian joining Aston Martin, the team said that the private tour of the team’s state-of-art factory in June “proved a decisive factor in the decision-making process.”

The 65-year-old opened up after signing a new long-term deal with Aston Martin. “I am thrilled to be joining the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team. He is the only majority team owner who is actively engaged in the sport,” Newey said.
“His commitment is demonstrated in the development of the new AMR Technology Campus and wind tunnel at Silverstone, which are not only state of the art but have a layout that creates a great environment to work in. Together with great partners like Honda and Aramco, they have all the key pieces of infrastructure needed to make Aston Martin a world championship-winning team and I am very much looking forward to helping reach that goal,” he added as quoted in F1’s statement.
