Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav paid a visit to the statue of the Australian cricket legend Shane Warne at the Melbourne Cricket ground on August 23. The star left-arm spinner shared a post on his social media with Warne's statue in the background. The star India bowler was last seen in action in the ODI series against Sri Lanka in August 2024. He also played a monumental role in India’s 2024 T20 World Cup triumph taking 10 wickets from five matches. 

Kuldeep Yadav has been a big admirer of the Australian bowling legend since his playing days. In his previous interview, Kuldeep also revealed that how Warne’s death affected him as he lost a member of his family. “Shane Warne was my idol, and I had a very strong connection with him. I still get emotional when I think about Warnie — it feels like I’ve lost someone from my family,” Kuldeep was quoted as saying by India.com 

Kuldeep Yadav also visited the headquarter of Cricket Australia during his tour at MCG where he got an overview of the upcoming Australian summer. Nick Hockley, the CEO of Cricket Australia also interacted with Indian cricketer through an online meeting. Notably, India are scheduled to tour Australia for a five-match Test series down under in November-December 2024. He shared some pictures with the statue of the Aussie legend and captioned the post, “Bowling Shane…. Always & Forever."

Kuldeep Yadav also shared his excitement for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar trophy in Australia and anticipated for a big crowd to come for the support of the Indian team down under. India had a great outing in their last two Test series in Australia where they defeated the hosts for the first time in a Test series down under in 2018/19 and registered an historic series win in 2020-21. Now the Indian team will be looking to continue their dominance in the Border Gavaskar trophy for the last 10 years.

“I am looking forward to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and we’re anticipating a great cricket contest between Australia and India this year,” Kuldeep said as per India.com 

“India cricket fans always support the team around the globe, and I am confident they will come in big numbers for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, especially during the Boxing Day Test,” the Indian cricketer further added.
