24-time Grand Slam champion and reckoned as one of the greats of the game, Novak Djokovic is all set to join hands with recently-retired Andy Murray. The Serbian tennis star recently revealed that he will be working closely with Andy Murray through the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the year in January 2025.
Djokovic, who holds the Open Era record for most Australian Open titles (10), followed by Roger Federer (6) and Andre Agassi (4), was outclassed by World No. 1 ranked star, Italy’s Jannik Sinner. The youngster claimed his maiden Grand Slam title, defeating Daniil Medvedev in a thrilling five-set finale in Melbourne and becoming the 27 th different men’s singles winner since the Open Era began in 1969.

Speaking after the completion of his 2024 season, the 24-time Grand Slam winner said, “I am excited to have one of my greatest rivals on the same side of the net, as my coach.” “Looking forward to the start of the season and competing in Australia alongside Andy, with whom I have shared many exceptional moments on the Australian soil,” he further added.
The fomer British tennis player, Andy Murray also reacted on the association ahead of the AO 2025. “I’m going to be joining Novak’s team in the offseason, helping him to prepare for the Australian Open. I’m really excited for it and looking forward to spending time on the same side of the net as Novak for a change, helping him to achieve his goals,” Andy Murray said.
It is to be noted that Murray retired as a player after the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in August. Furthermore, he ended his elaborated career with three major trophies and two Olympic singles gold medals. The duo will now be seen on the same side of the court at the AO 2025, which will be played in Melbourne from 6 to 26 January 2025.
