Indian wrestler Antim Phangal etched her name into history book by becoming the first Indian women to win back-to-back U20 titles. Phangal defended her 53kg title on Friday as she took down her Ukrainian competitor Mariia Yefremova. Recently, Antim was in news after Vinesh Phogat had pulled out of the Asian Games 2023 with a knee injury.

The Hisar-born wrestler dominated her Ukrainian opponent, winning it 4-0 in clean sheets. Her quick movements and double-leg attacks, along with strength game, helped her seal the bout in a take down move. Antim notably conceded only two points during the course of the tournament on lifting the U20 title.
Talking about other wrestlers, Reena took bronze in 57kg with a 9-4 win over Shugyla Omirbek of Kazakhstan. Harshita also finished with a bronze in women’s 72kg category, while Savita (62kg) bagged the gold, winning third gold for India. Earlier Priya became the only second Indian woman wrestler to win the U20 World Championships.
