The Asia Cup 2023 is the 16th edition of the tournament, which features the top six teams from Asia. The tournament will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 17, 2023. The tournament will also serve as a warm-up event for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, which will take place in India from October to November.

The six teams that will participate in the Asia Cup 2023 are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal. India is the most successful team in the tournament's history, having won seven titles. Sri Lanka are the second most successful team, with six titles. Nepal is a newcomer to the tournament, having qualified through the Asia Cup Qualifier 2023.
The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with two groups of three teams, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super Four stage, where they will play against each other once. The top two teams from the Super Four stage will qualify for the final, where they will compete for the title. India, Pakistan, and Nepal are in Group A, while Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh comprise Group B.
