The Indian men's recurve team won a silver medal in the final of the Asian Games 2023 on October 6, Friday. The Indian trio of Dhiraj Bommadevara, Atanu Das and Tushar Shelke went down to the 2012 Olympics champions South Korea 1-5. With their win, the archers extended India's overall medal tally to 90 in the 19th season of the continental tournament.

While all three Korean archers were a part of the gold medal-winning Korean team at the archery world championships in Berlin earlier this year, Oh Jinhyek and Kim Je Deok were in men’s recurve team from Tokyo 2020. 

Earlier in the ongoing event, the Indian team got better of Bangladesh 4-2 in the semi-finals after beating Mongolia 5-4 in the quarter-finals. On Monday, the Indian trio took down Hong Kong 6-0 in the round of 16. The bronze medal in the category was won by Indonesia, who defeated Bangladesh 6-0. 

On the other hand, the Indian women's recurve team consisting of Ankita Bhakat, Bhajan Kaur, and Simranjeet Kaur defeated Vietnam 6-2 to add to India's medal rush in archery and secure a bronze.
