India's Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Kumar Jena won the medals at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou. Contesting at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium, Chopra had the best distance of 88.88 m to win the event and continued his stunning form through 2023. While Jena registered a best throw of 87.54 m to register a second-placed finish.

The event started with a delay for Chopra, as the Indian javelin star's first throw wasn't recorded after a technical glitch. But after retaking his attempt, Chopra registered a distance of 82.38 m. Then on the second attempt, the Tokyo Olympics champion had a throw of 84.49m. The third attempt saw Neeraj Chopra register a failed attempt.
But with his fourth attempt, the Diamond League 2023 champion launched a monster throw of 88.88 m to clinch the top spot before rounding off his performance with attempts of 80.80m and a failed attempt. Talking about Kishore Kumar Jena, the Odisha native started the event with an incredible throw of 81.26m and then registered an attempt of 79.76m on his second throw.
Kishore, with his third throw, registered a distance of 86.77 m and took the lead at the event. Then with his fourth attempt, Jena better his previous throw with a distance of 87.54 m, which is also his personal best, and then finished off with two foul throws.
