KL Rahul’s eighth Test century and second back-to-back in Centurion after the first coming in 2021, helped India put 245 runs on the board in the first Test against South Africa. While he played a gritty and an all-important knock, he earned applause from all over to help pot a commanding total on the board on a tricky and tough pitch at the SuperSport Park.

While several former cricketers took to social media to applaud KL’s knock, his wife, Athiya Shetty also shared a heartfelt story on Instagram. Athiya, who is an actor by profession, sharing a picture of KL Rahul in black and white, wrote, “strength to strength” with a red heart.
Not only this, Athiya’s father, a prominent Bollywood celebrity, Sunil Shetty also shared a picture of him watching KL play with heartwarming emojis.
At the end of 34 overs, South Africa’s scoreboard read 132/3 with stand-in skipper Dean Elgar at 82 and David Bedingham alongside him at 7 off 10 balls.
