After rain played a spoilsport on the opening day of the third Test at The Gabba in Brisbane, Day 2 saw the hosts, Australia resume the innings at 28 for no loss. Although, Indian spearhead Jasprit Bumrah dismissed the openers, Usman Khawaja (21 off 54) and Nathan McSweeney (9 off 49), the other Indian bowlers were then seen struggling.

Amidst this, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj was also seen struggling to take a wicket and during his bowling spell, was also seen pulling his hamstring. Bowling a delivery at fag end of the first session on Day 2, the right-armer injured his hamstring, forcing him to leave the field of play.

The incident occurred in the 37th over of the Australian inning. After pulling his hamstring, he tried to stretch it out but the damage just got severe as he called in for the physio to check on it. After a brief discussion, Siraj walked off the field with Akash Deep coming in to complete his over, bowling four deliveries.

However, after a brief break, the 30-year-old returned to the field, giving a massive sigh of relief to the Indian fans. At the time of writing, Siraj had bowled 16.2 overs, conceding 59 runs. Till now he has bowled four maiden overs and is still to get a wicket to his name.
