The first Grand Slam of the season is all set to kickstart from January 16 in Australia. Days prior to the start of the tournament the draws for the upcoming edition of Australian Open came out early on Thursday (January 12). Nine-time champion Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios have been drafted in the same quarters with Rafael Nadal receiving a tough challenge.

Talking about former World No 1 Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, the Serb might face Nick Kyrgios in pre-quarters, while Nadal might turn up against Daniil Medvedev in a quarterfinal game. Current World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and former US Open champion & Australian Open runners-up Marin Cilic have pulled out of the Grand Slam.

On the other hand, in a bid for her fourth major title, Iga Swiatek will take on Germany’s J Niemeier in the first round. However, Coco Gauff will play against K Siniakova in the Round 1 with both the star players hoping for a potential quarterfinal setup.
