The first One-Day International game between India and South Africa will go down as a modern classic. The match had everything from high-intensity action, drama and big hitting from both teams. In a rain-hit encounter, the Proteas posted a massive 250-target in 40 overs but, while chasing this target India fell short by nine runs despite heroic efforts by Sanju Samson.
Along with these incredible batting performances, another highlight has been making the rounds on the internet. This highlight is of a ball boy, during the South African batting, who took a spectacular catch outside the boundary rope.
David Miller continued his incredible run of form and was smashing the Indian bowlers in all directions. One such big hit was heading towards the mid-wicket boundary where this ball-boy was placed. He (the ball boy) accurately gauged the ball, set hands in the right positions and caught the skying shot with absolute ease.

Talking further about the South African innings, the duo of David Miller and Henrich Klassen emerged as saviours after a slow-paced top-order performance barring Quinton de Kock. The Miller-Klassen pair combined to post a 106-ball 139-run stand and took the Proteas to a great score of 250.
Miller scored 75 in 63 balls while Klassen added 74 in 65 deliveries and took home the Player of the match award. Reacting to this accolade, Klassen expressed elation and delight as his performance helped his team get the victory.
He said, “Not at all (when asked if the conditions were easy to bat), the ball was moving a lot and was spinning just before I walked out to the middle. But we have worked hard in the nets, I do have a good record against India and looking forward to the rest of the games.”
