Indian skipper Rohit Sharma gave a hilarious response to a fan who revealed his emotions regarding the Nagpur-born cricketer's retirement from the T20I format. Notably, Sharma joined his teammates Virat Kohli and ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as they called time on career in the shortest format after guiding the side to T20 World Cup 2024 win. India claimed their second T20 World Cup after a gap of 17 years, and ended their ICC trophy drought after 11 years.
Recently, Rohit Sharma was spotted outside of the airport where a paparazzi expressed his emotions to the 2024 World Cup-winning skipper. He said that the entire nation has been missing their ‘Hitman’ in the 20-over format. However, like always, Sharma came up with a hilarious and nonchalant reply, which left everyone in splits. Not only this, but it also went viral on social media within no time, and the fans couldn’t stop but admire Rohit Sharma’s humour.

When the paparazzi told Rohit Sharma that he is being missed in the T20I format, he casually said, “Bas ho gaya yaar,” before walking inside the airport. Needless to say, the video of the same went viral on social media. Notably, Sharma is now the highest run-scorer in the T20I format with 4231 runs in 159 matches at an average of 32.05 along with five hundreds. Not only this, but he was also the second-highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup 2024 with 257 runs in eight games with an average of 36.71.
Just a few days ago, Rohit Sharma led the Indian side to a 2-0 win over Bangladesh in the two-match Test series at home. India will now lock horns with their rivals in a three-match T20I series across three venues, beginning on October 6 in Gwalior, in the absence of Sharma before he takes the field for the national team in the captaincy role for the three-match Test series against New Zealand, starting on October 16.
