Bayern Munich are likely to sign a 56 million euro ($60.4m) deal with Fulham to sign Joao Palhinha. Last year, Palhinha had almost moved to the Allianz Arena; however, the deal broke down on the final day of the transfer window. As per reports, it would be a club-record transfer for Fulham with 51 million euros up front along with 5 million euros in add-ons. The 28-year-old midfielder is likely to sign a four-year deal with the side.

Notably, Palhinha represents Portugal, and he is currently preparing for their upcoming Euro 2024 quarterfinal clash against France. As per ESPN, the footballer is not likely to finalise the deal until he is representing his country in the tournament. Last year, Palhinha had been permitted to travel to Germany to undergo a medical, which ultimately resulted in Fulham calling off the deal. However, it seems that the deal will finally take place during this window.

Last week, Palhinha was quoted by ESPN as saying, “As far as my future is concerned, both clubs know where I want to be in a month. I am currently concentrating on my work with the national team and on making history for my country." Palhinha joined Fulham from Sporting CP in 2022 and since then, made 79 appearances for the side, while winning their Player of the Year award during the opening season.

The footballer will undergo a medical after Euro 2024 before signing the four-year-long contract and has played a key role for the side. He established Fulham in the Premier League in 2022. Talking about Bayern Munich, the side finished third in the Bundesliga last season and were 18 points behind Bayer Leverkusen. The side was eliminated by Real Madrid in the Champions League semifinals and failed to win the German Cup.
