Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Saturday, December 21 announced salary hikes and series bonuses for its national women's cricket team. The decision from BCB came during its 16th board meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Under the revised pay structure, players in Grade A will now earn BDT 120,000 per month, while players falling in Grade B will earn BDT 100,000. Grade C and D players' monthly salaries will be increased by BDT 10,000 to BDT 70,000 and BDT 60,000, respectively.
Besides these hikes, 18 players from the central contract, including Sharmin Akter Supta, Murshida Khatun, Marufa Akter, and Rabeya received grade promotions. During the meeting, the board also announced the launch of a Women's National Contract that covers 30 additional players outside the contract. Faruque Ahmed, President of the BCB, said, “This step is a reflection of our effort to ensure the financial well-being of our women cricketers while motivating them to perform at the highest level.”
New match series and winning bonus for Bangladesh women cricketers
BCB, in its announcement, also mentioned match and series victory bonuses for women cricketers. Notably, players will receive BDT 100,000 and BDT 50,000 for ODIs and T20Is victory respectively, for defeating an ICC top-three team. The bonus sums for beating teams ranked fourth to sixth are BDT 75,000 and BDT 35,000 ($300 approx.), while the bonuses for beating teams ranked seventh to ninth are BDT 50,000 and BDT 30,000.
Revised salary hike and cricketers in new national contract for October 2024 to June 2025
In the revised salary hike, players falling in different grades will receive updated pay, which is listed below:
Grade A (BDT 120,000): Nigar Sultana Joty, Ritu Moni, Nahida Akter, Fargana Haque,
Grade B (BDT 100,000): Fahima Khatun, Shamima Sultana, Marufa Akter, Rabeya Khan, Sharmin Akhter, Murshida Khatun,
Grade C (BDT 70,000): Sobhana Mostary, Lata Mondal, Jahanara Alam, Shorna Akter
Grade D (BDT 60,000): Disha Biswas, Sultana Khatun, Dilara Akter, Shathi Rani
