Tennis ace Tommy Paul left an epic reply to Ben Shelton’s recent NBA dilemma post. Shelton has had a mixed campaign at the Italian Open 2024 as he crashed out of the men’s singles event after falling to China Number 1 Zhang Zhizhen in the Round of 32. The youngster hasn’t been able to enjoy the NBA playoffs as the league’s timings collided with the tennis tournament. However, senior player Tommy Paul had a piece of advice to share with the youngster as he opened up about his dilemma.
Despite losing his R32 clash, the former Florida Gator is still in contention as he made it to the quarterfinal stage of the men’s doubles event. He partnered with Alexander Bublik and they cruised past the duos of Felix Auger-Aliassime-Frances Tiafoe and Marcelo Melo-Alexander Zverev. The 21-year-old posted a series of pictures on Instagram and captioned it, “Just out here trying to cope with NBA playoff games being at 3 am.”
Tommy Paul’s straightforward and honest advice to Ben Shelton goes viral
Shelton’s compatriot and senior Tommy Paul gave honest and straight advice, suggesting him to get used to it. He commented on Shelton’s post, “Better get used to it bud.” Notably, Ben is a huge fan of the Atlanta Hawks and despite his hectic schedule, he has been following the NBA playoffs. Coming back to the tournament, Shelton won his opening-round singles clash against Pavel Kotov.
After the game, he said, “I actually played Bublik here last year and I was on the other end of it. The crowd was booing me and chanting for him. I was on the opposite end of the boos this year, in this match. It felt like a football match. They really support tennis here in Europe, they love tennis.”
