The hosts Australia suffered a big loss in the first Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth. India dominated them in all aspects to win the first Test by 295 runs and take a lead of 1-0 in a five-match Test series down under. Along with this, Australia also suffered another major setback as their key pacer Josh Hazlewood was ruled out of the second day-night Test in Adelaide due to an injury.
However, Australia have a great record in pink-ball Test matches, they have got enough time between the first and second Test to renew their strategies and make a comeback in the series. Australia are unlikely to make changes in their batting order and will go ahead with the opening pair of Nathan McSweeney and Usman Khawaja. McSweeney couldn’t have a memorable debut in Perth, while Khawaja also failed to play a big knock. However, Australia will still go with both the openers in the Adelaide Test.
