India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj joined all-rounder and teammate Axar Patel in trolling wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant for his Instagram post. Pant took to Instagram to share a picture with the T20 World Cup 2024 winners’ medal. The Men in Blue defeated South Africa the World Cup 2024 final to lift the coveted title after a gap of 17 years. The victory ended India’s 11-year-old ICC trophy drought and a 13-year-old World Cup drought.
Following the victory, Pant took to Instagram to share pictures with the winner’s medal. In the series of pictures, the youngster could be seen posing with the medal, while he captioned it, “This medal hits you differently.” However, India all-rounder Axar Patel came up with a hilarious comment on the post and stated that he has the same winner medal. Patel commented on Pant’s post, “Bhai same mere pass bhi hai.”
This is not it as fast bowler Mohammed Siraj also joined Patel and wrote, “Bhai mere pass bhi hai same.” (“Brother, I too have the same medal.”) Notably, the recently concluded World Cup 2024 was Pant’s first international assignment, ever since he made his cricketing comeback after a year-long injury layoff. After an average campaign in the IPL 2024, Pant had a decent outing in the USA and the West Indies.
During the 2024 World Cup 2024, the 26-year-old scored 171 runs at an average of 24.42 and a strike rate of 127.61. Pant’s best performance came against Pakistan, where he came up with 42 runs off 31 balls to help his side post 119 on the score board. Talking about the forthcoming assignments, Pant has been rested for the Zimbabwe-India series. However, he is most likely to return to national side during the Sri Lanka tour, in July 2024.
