Ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025, Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto delivered a statement that his team is going to the Champions Trophy to become champions. However, the Bangla side’s actions aren’t matching their skipper’s words as they have started their campaign in the ODI extravaganza terribly against India in Dubai. In their opening match, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Within the first powerplay, India bowlers wreaked havoc on the Bangla Tigers. Shanto’s side lost their half of the side within 10 overs which has led to India’s domination in the contest. Mohammed Shami launched the attack in the first over of the match, claiming Soumya Sarkar’s wicket.

Reacting to the Bangla team’s miserable batting show, cricket fans on X aren’t shying away from taking Shanto and his men to the cleaners. An X user named Dr. Ajayita took a dig at Bangladesh, posting a dialogue related to the Bollywood movie Munna Bhai MBBS Bhai, "yeh toh shuru hote hi khatam ho gaya". Another user recalled Bangladesh wicketkeeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim’s nine-year old social media post to troll the Bangla pack. Back in 2016, when India lost the T20 World Cup 2016 semi-final against West Indies in Mumbai, the Bangla veteran trolled the Men in Blue with a Facebook post.

Rohit Sharma drops Jaker Ali in BAN vs IND CT 2025 clash

In the ninth over of the game, captain Rohit Sharma handed the ball to Axar Patel and the left-handed player dismissed Tanzid Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim on back-to-back deliveries. After claiming two hunts, Axar could’ve pulled off a hat-trick but skipper Rohit, who was standing at the slip, dropped Jaker Ali, who faced his maiden ball of the game.

Rohit was seen frustrated after missing the chance and he was also seen apologising to the spin wizard. Following the amazing start, Rohit and co. will look to carry the momentum ahead to bundle out their neighbours as soon as possible.
