In the season opener of Lanka Premier League's fourth season, fans witnessed a nail-biting thriller as Jaffna Kings locked horns with Colombo Strikers at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 30. The Niroshan Dickwella-led side won the toss and invited their hosts to bat first, to which the Thisara Parera side replied by starting their innings with a blast. However, Jaffna’s explosive start soon came to an end when Colombo pacer Naseem Shah came to bowl. Shah brought Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz ’s 21-run inning to an end and gave him a fiery send off.
