India's key middle-order wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant met with an unfortunate accident in December 2022 after the India tour of Bangladesh, since then he hasn't played any game at the International or domestic level but his absence in the playing XI has been a huge void to fill and the speculations have been made on Pant's participation in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023.

As per reports from sources like ESPN Cricinfo, the BCCI is attempting to include Rishabh Pant in the World Cup squad, since his fast recovery has surprised both BCCI & NCA. It's been learned that the BCCI has attempted to fast-track Pant's rehab to try and get him ready for the ODI WC this year. The 25-year-old has been working with physio S Rajnikanth who helped Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah to rehabilitate from serious injuries.

Pant is believed to have interacting sessions with batches of his age group cricketers who have been attending training camps at NCA and he has mixed his rehab with sessions of aqua therapy, light swimming, and table tennis as well.

BCCI is targetting, Rishabh Pant to get included in the ODI WC 2023 squad but considering the practical difficulties involved in it, with Pant playing his last ODI game in December 2022 in Bangladesh he may not be able to make it to the squad but still a last-minute inclusion in the WC 2023 squad is still possible.
