Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti gave a furious reply to Barcelona legend Gerard Pique after his comments over Real Madrid’s 14th UCL win. In one of his recent interviews, Pique made a remark about Los Blancos' UEFA Champions League victory in 2022. The former footballer had said that nobody would remember Madrid’s win in the UCL as it was just a miracle.
Ancelotti responded to the former Barcelona star’s comments and said that nobody will ever forget their win. The 64-year-old was quoted by MadridXtra as saying, "Pique's words? He lives in his own world. No one will ever forget our 14th Champions League title. We will remember it for all our lives."
Notably, Pique had said, "The last Champions League they won was a miracle, because they were not superior in any qualifier or in the final, and it will never be remembered." Speaking about Madrid’s 2021-22 season, Real Madrid won three major tournaments, including La Liga. In the UEFA Champions League final, they beat Liverpool 1-0.
In the ongoing season, Real Madrid currently sit at the top of their UEFA Champions League Group C with 12 points from four games. Napoli with seven points currently sit at the second spot in the standings. On the other hand, they sit at the second spot in the La Liga standings with 29 points in 12 matches.
