Cedric Alexander, a former WWE Superstar, has expressed that he felt a stronger connection with Paul Heyman than with Triple H during his tenure in WWE. Despite a notable moment in 2016 when Triple H endorsed Alexander following his performance in the Cruiserweight Classic, Alexander revealed that their relationship didn't develop significantly beyond that. Alexander highlighted that while Triple H had some involvement during his time on 205 Live, it was Paul Heyman who provided more consistent guidance. When Heyman was overseeing Raw and Alexander transitioned from 205 Live to Raw, Heyman offered valuable advice and support.
One of the key lessons Alexander learned from Heyman was the importance of patience in the wrestling industry. During a period of frustration over his utilization on Raw, Alexander sought Heyman's counsel on advancing his career. Heyman advised him to be patient, indicating that opportunities would arise in due time. Additionally, Alexander credited Heyman with helping him become more comfortable in front of the camera and enhancing his ability to connect with fans. He mentioned that Heyman provided pointers on projecting himself better and shared insights into the nuances of show business.
Alexander hints over joining The Hurt Syndicate
Talking about all this in a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, he said “Alexander noted, "I was more of a Paul Heyman guy... Heyman gave me a bunch of little sidebar conversations this, that and the other way more than Triple H did.” Talking about the patience part in the industry, Alexander also stated, “He was just telling me 'Just wait. We'll take care of you. If you gotta wait six months, wait six months. If you gotta wait a year. Wait a year.”
Talking in the same interview, Cedrick Alexander also opened up on his interest in reuniting with his former faction, The Hurt Business—now known as The Hurt Syndicate—in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He said, “"100%. That's a big chapter of my career that I really felt was never fully explored and I think it'll be great to finish that out."
