It has not happened often that a player who scores a century gets dropped in the next game. But it seems that it could happen to Shubman Gill in the 2nd and final Test against Bangladesh. Gill, who scored his maiden Test century in the second innings of first Test is likely to make way for Rohit Sharma, who has informed the management that he is available for 2nd Test.
Notably, Rohit Sharma was ruled out of first Test after he sustained a thumb injury while attempting a catch in 2nd ODI against Bangladesh. KL Rahul took the captaincy in the absence of Rohit and is likely to win his first Test as captain.
India takes firm control in first Test
After bundling out the Bangladesh side for 150, Team India have taken the lead of over 500 with brilliant innings from Shubman Gill (110) and Cheteshwar Pujara (91*). KL Rahul is likely to declare the innings after century of Pujara who is playing on 91. Virat Kohli and Pujara have quickly stitched a 50-run partnership and it seems Team India is planning to bowl at least 20 overs to Bangladesh before the end of Day 3.
