English Premier League side Chelsea has hosted the family of Brazilian teenager Endrick at the club's training ground as they continue to push for the possibility of signing the Palmeiras striker in the upcoming transfer windows as reported by Sky Sports. The 16-year-old is considered one of the most talented youngsters in world football.
Several big teams like Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Manchester City are among countless other clubs who have reportedly expressed interest in signing the young Brazilian. Endrick became the youngest player to play for Palmeiras' first team last month at the age of just 16 years. Then at the age of just two months and 16 days, Endrick scored three goals in the Brazilian Serie A after a successful spell in the club's youth academy.
Reports also suggest that Chelsea introduced defender Thiago Silva, the Brazil captain who will play at the World Cup in Qatar, to Endrick and his family. The 16-year-old’s father Douglas also visited Stamford Bridge. Endrick can sign any contract with a new club next year before making the move after his 18th birthday in July 2024.
Endrick hit the radars of a number of European giants in January when, at the age of 15, he took home the most valuable player award and goal of the tournament at the Copinha in Sao Paulo, which is considered one of the most important U20 tournaments in the world. Endrick has scored five times in just 90 minutes of action while playing across three games playing against older players.
Palmeira has set Endrick’s price at up to €40m (£35m) at the time and is confident that they can receive a fee of more than the £29.3m which they got from Manchester City for Gabriel Jesus in 2016. The Brazilian side believes Endrick is a generational talent who could progress into a player of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s calibre.
