Rajasthan Royals couldn’t capitalise on a good start in the ongoing IPL 2025 clash against Chennai Super Kings as they were reduced to 182/9 after the end of 20 overs. Coming to bat first after losing the toss, RR lost their first wicket in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal in the very first over of the match.
After that, Nitish Rana took charge of the innings and went on to play a fiery knock of 81 runs off just 36 balls, smashing 10 fours and five sixes. Stand-in skipper Riyan Parag also contributed with 37(28) runs, hitting two fours and two sixes. Apart from that, none of the other batters could score big as RR lost six wickets by adding just 42 runs in the last seven overs of the innings.
Fans go berserk after CSK restrict RR to 182/9
For CSK, Khaleel Ahmed, Noor Ahmad and Matheesha Pathirana took two wickets each while Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja scalped a wicket each. After the first innings, the fans came up with different reactions on social media.
However, while defending a target, RR also got a great start as Jofra Archer dismissed in-form Rachin Ravindra for a duck in the very first over without any run on board.
