The five-time Indian Premier League champions Chennai Super Kings became the first team to cross 10 million followers on Twitter. The 2023 winners of the cash-rich league have one of the most loyal fanbases, and support has been constant throughout the years. CSK, under the captaincy of MS Dhoni won another title in the last season of the tournament to level Mumbai Indian captain Rohit Sharma. 

The franchise posted on their social media handle and expressed their gratitude to the fans. The Yellow Army accompanied an animated video with the caption, “Thanks a 1️⃣0️⃣ for the X-treme Yellove and whistles from all around the world.” 

After CSK, Mumbai-based franchise Mumbai Indians lead the charts with a following of 8.2 million followers on Twitter. Third on standings are the Virat Kohli-starrer Royal Challengers Bangalore with 6.8 million followers. Next up are Kolkata Knight Riders and SunRisers Hyderabad with 5.2 million and 3.2 million followers. 

The franchise with the lowest number of followers on Twitter are Gujarat Titans with 522.7K followers. Notably, Chennai Super Kings, led by the former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, won their first title in 2010, and defended it in 2011. In the 2023 season, the team defeated Gujarat Titans to lift another trophy.
