Former India team captain Sourav Ganguly shared a tweet taking an indirect dig at the BCCI amidst rumours of Gautam Gambhir’s appointment as the India head coach have been doing rounds in the air. The Indian cricket governing body invited applications for the position of the senior men team’s head coach. India’s current coach Rahul Dravid’s tenure will come to an end after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 .
While nothing has been confirmed yet, rumours of Gambhir’s possible appointment started doing rounds on social media. As per several sources, the former India opener is most likely to succeed Dravid for the role after he mentored KKR to win their third IPL trophy in 2024. Not only this, but several fans and experts have also expressed their desire to see Gambhir as the next head coach of the 2011 World Cup winners.

In his tweet, Gambhir advised the board to choose the coach wisely. He wrote on X, "The coach's significance in one's life, their guidance, and relentless training shape the future of any person, both on and off the field. So choose the coach and institution wisely..."
Ganguly’s tweet sparked multiple reactions from fans, and while some said that the Indian great remembered his old days, others opined that he was against the appointment of Gambhir.
