The 35-year-old Conor McGregor announced himself in the Hollywood industry with his debut film 'Road House', which is a remake of the 1980s classic, alongside Oscar-nominated Jake Gyllenhaal. The movie was released on March 21 and garnered $750 million at the box office worldwide, making it the most-watched movie on Prime Video as the former UFC champion congratulated the entire team on social media.
Conor McGregor was well-received by fans and critics for his spectacular display of the character 'Knox' in the movie. The former two-division UFC champion took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night to congratulate the 'Road House' team for crossing the 50 million worldwide viewers mark on Prime Video.
He wrote, "Congrats to @amazonstudios and @mgmstudios on their @roadhousemovie becoming their most watched movie of all time! 50 million viewers over two weekends. That’s $750m at the box office. In 10 days! Insane! Congrats all the team, it was a pleasure ❤️"
The Doug Liman-directed Road House, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Conor McGregor, Daniela Melchior, J. D. Pardo, Arturo Castro, and Billy Magnussen. The movie synopsis read, "Ex-UFC fighter Dalton (Jake Gyllenhaal) takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that this paradise is not all it seems."
The Irish fighter is expected to make his return to the octagon in nearly three years against Michale Chandler on June 29 followed by Nate Diaz's trilogy in September and his boxing return against former Philippines boxer Manny Pacquiao in December.
