Big Ant Studios and Nacon announced a brand new game called Cricket 24 in partnership with Cricket Australia (CA) via a press release. It is set to be released in the build-up to the Ashes Series that starts between England and Australia at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham on June 16.
Cricket 24: The Official Game of the Ashes, is the predecessor of Cricket 22, the first game of its kind, which got released before the last Ashes series in Australia and attained a rousing success in the cricket video game market. According to the CA press release, the developers hail Cricket 24 as "the most realistic video game representation of the sport ever."
Big Ant Studios also sent out a tweet to hype their new Cricket 24 game and announced that teams from India will finally be represented. “Here we go! #Cricket24 with more licenses than ever before - and representation from India for the first time!!” Also, the tournaments like KFC BBL and Weber WBBL will make a return to Cricket 24, along with new additions coming to the floor, including The Hundred and the Caribbean Premier League.
One of the most touted features of Cricket 24 is going to be its fully cross-platform functionality, which will allow the users to play the game online irrespective of whatever device they choose. Meanwhile, a big improvement in Cricket 24 compared to its previous version is going to be the overhauled fielding system.
The career mode of Cricket 24 has got a major boost for the Ashes series in regards to providing gamers with a unique experience of press conferences, team training sessions and unique commentary. The introduction of Pro Team mode will allow the user to pick their favourite players from over 200 players in the catalogue and create their own dream team whether it's for men’s or women’s cricket. There will be 50 different official cricket stadiums in Cricket 24 for added variety in gameplay.
Cricket 24 is currently available for pre-order on the Big Ant Studios website. If you buy the game on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, then there will be an option to upgrade for free once you purchase the latest hardware.
