Afghanistan, despite putting in their best efforts have ended up losing to Australia by 3 wickets and currently, they are in a tough situation to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2023 World Cup. Now, Afghanistan can beat South Africa and get a maximum of 5 wins in the ODI WC 2023 points table.
Already, teams like India, South Africa and Australia have qualified for the semi-finals with six wins in the table thus they will always stand above Afghanistan in the points table.
Now, the Netherlands can have a maximum of 4 wins in the ODI World Cup 2023, while other sides like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and England can get only 3 wins in the ODI World Cup overall hence these four sides will always stand below Afghanistan in the points table.
