Netherlands players matched steps with local Himachali dancers ahead of their clash against South Africa at the I CC ODI World Cup 2023 . The Dutch players have had a disappointing start to their fifth World Cup appearance. Scott Edwards and Co. went down to Pakistan in their season opener before losing to New Zealand. In their next match, the Dutch will lock horns with Temba Bavuma-led South Africa on October 17, Tuesday.
The Dutchmen reached Dharamshala on October 11 and were acquainted with local culture at their hotel. The players were seemingly fascinated with the culture as they performed Nati along with the local artists. Notably, Nati is a famous folk dance of Himachal Pradesh and is performed on the local musical beats.
Himachal Cricket took to social media to share the video of players performing Nati. The video was accompanied by the caption, " Netherlands Cricketers embrace the Himachali Vibes at HPCA Dharamshala Stadium: Our beloved guests have been soaking in the rich Himachali culture during their visit to the picturesque HPCA Dharamshala Stadium. From savouring local cuisine to grooving to Folk Tunes."
Speaking of the tournament, the ‘Orange Army’ locked horns with the Babar Azam-led side in their first match of the tournament. Despite delivering a decent performance, they fell short of the Men in Green. In their second match, Netherlands met with previous runners-up New Zealand and lost the game but ended up losing the game by a big margin of 99 runs.
