Australia have named an unchanged 13-member squad for the third and final Test of the series against Pakistan, which will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). This Test match will also be the last in the career of David Warner, who will bow out in front of his family and friends at his home ground in Sydney.

After demolishing Pakistan in the first Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth by 360 runs, Australia were made to work hard at the Melbourne Cricket Ground but emerged victorious at the end by 79 runs in a pulsating second Test. The captain, Pat Cummins, was the star of the show for Australia in the second Test, picking up 10 wickets to ensure that Pakistan didn’t attain their first win on their home soil in nearly 30 years.

The Chief Selector of Australia, George Bailey, spoke about the reason for the unchanged squad to the media and said, “The National Selection Panel have retained the same squad from Melbourne to Sydney as we look to clean sweep the test series.” He stated this about David Warner’s impending Test retirement, “We look forward to celebrating David Warner’s final test match and his incredible career at his home ground.”
