The second Ashes Test between Australia and hosts England is underway at the Lord’s with the visitors currently leading the series 1-0 with a win in the first Test. The Ben Stokes-led side won the toss and invited Australia to bat first in the second Test with the visitors putting 416 in their first innings. While the match saw enormous halts due to rain and pitch invasion, England currently trail by 138 runs at the end of Stumps on Day 2.
While Steven Smith was the leading run-scorer for the Aussies in the first inning as he amassed 110 off 184 deliveries before falling off Josh Tongue. Star batter David Warner was the second highest run-scorer in the first inning as he added 66 runs during his stay at the crease. But the star Australian opener hogged the limelight on Day 2 as a picture of him solving the crosswords while enjoying the view from the Lord’s balcony is now doing rounds on social media.

Talking about the Ben Stokes’-led side, after Josh Tongue stood out for his figures of 3/98 in 22 overs in the first inning, the Three Lions also made a mark with a brilliant start in the second inning. While Zak Crawley scored 48 off as many deliveries, Ben Duckett added 98 runs off 134 deliveries before falling off Josh Hazlewood’s pace. While skipper Ben Stokes (17 off 57) and Harry Brook (45 off 51) are unbeaten, holding the fort for England at the Lord’s.
