The Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians (MI) are hosting Delhi Capitals (DC) in match 20 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. However, it was the visiting skipper that won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first.
On the back of some crucial knocks from Rohit Sharma (49), Ishan Kishan (42), Tim David (45*) and Romario Shepherd’s unbeaten 39, the MI posted 234 runs in their stipulated 20 overs. Before DC took the guards in the middle in their pursuit of 235-run target, the Wankhede Stadium authorities were in news for all the wrong reasons.
The stadium authorities were involved in a big blunder as it showed “DC won by 235 runs to win” on the big screen, picture of which is going viral on X (formerly Twitter).
DC takes a dig after Wankhede Stadium blunder
The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) were quick to correct this flaw as they took to X while revealing their target, highlighting “WE NEED 235 RUNS TO WIN”. The DC captioned the post, “Dilli, time to counter this late surge, with the bat.”
