Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Deepak Chahar is set to be ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League for some after suffering a hamstring injury. The Indian pacer was sent off the pitch against Mumbai Indians after bowling just five balls and didn’t return throughout the game.
Addressing Chahar’s injury, Chennai Super Kings released a statement stating that the Rajasthan-born bowler will be undergoing scans to analyse the extent of his injury. The scans will are scheduled after the team returns to Chennai.

The press release said, “Deepak Chahar injured his hamstring during Saturday's match against Mumbai Indians. The fast bowler bowled one over before being forced off the field due to injury. Chahar will undergo scans to identify the extent of the injury once the team returns to Chennai.”
The 30-year-old seamer was signed by Chennai Super Kings for INR 14 crores and has been dealing with multiple major injuries over the last two years. He missed the 2022 season of the IPL and a majority of the international cricketing calendar with a back injury. Notably, he picked up this back issue while rehabilitating from a right quadricep injury he suffered while playing for India in February last year.
These injuries have certainly affected Deepak Chahar’s form in this ongoing IPL season as he has failed to pick up a single wicket so far. In CSK’s three games, Chahar has bowled nine overs while giving away 94 runs at an economy of 10.44.
