Delhi Capitals have been doing consistently well in the Indian Premier League in recent years. While they were the runners-up last season, this year too they have almost confirmed their place in the Playoffs by registering wins in as many as eight matches. However, team owner Parth Jindal is not only focusing on his team but wants Indian cricket to benefit at large.

Jindal, who is a known sports lover, raised questions over Team India's T20 World Cup squad. He feels that the selectors would be regretting some of the decisions that they have made as the team does not feature some of the best batters of the country. While many feel he could be talking about the experienced Shikhar Dhawan who has been remarkably consistent in IPL 2021, others think he is talking about Shreyas Iyer, who has been named as the reserve player.

Jindal made this statement in a tweet. "The selectors must be wondering why they made some of the decisions they did - our T20 World Cup squad doesn’t have some of our best batsman - any guesses who? @DelhiCapitals @BCCI," he wrote.

Notably, Iyer had been ruled out of the entire IPL 2021 when the competition had begun in April. However, a sudden cancellation of the competition midway and its rescheduled dates in September meant that he had enough time to recover for the second half. Shreyas has done well in the opportunities that he has got in the UAE leg of matches and would look to continue his consistent run to perhaps force the selectors to include him in the 15-members.

Meanwhile, Jindal also wrote, "India’s best spinner in T20 is missing too!! @BCCIdomestic @RCBTweets." The netizens were quick to assume that he was talking about Yuzvendra Chahal. While Chahal has failed to make it into the 15-member squad, it was Rahul Chahar who had been drafted in the squad. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav also missed making the team but was battling poor form with several experts already predicting his ouster. It would be interesting to see if the BCCI makes some minor tweaks in their squad before the marquee event.
